The Bible begins with one of the most powerful sentences ever written: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." That is the opening of the Book of Genesis — the very first book of the Bible.
Before anything existed — no sun, no moon, no animals, no people — there was God. And God began to create.
📖 The Story
God created everything in six days. On the first day He made light. On the second day He separated the sky from the water. On the third day He made dry land and plants. On the fourth day He made the sun, moon, and stars. On the fifth day He made fish and birds. On the sixth day He made animals — and then He made people. On the seventh day God rested.

Day 1 — Light. God said "Let there be light" — and there was light.
Day 2 — Sky. God separated the water above from the water below.
Day 3 — Land and plants. Dry ground appeared. Trees and flowers grew.
Day 4 — Sun, moon, and stars. To mark days, seasons, and years.
Day 5 — Fish and birds. The sea and sky filled with life.
Day 6 — Animals and people. God made man and woman in His own image.

The most special part of the Creation story is when God made people. The Bible says God made humans "in His own image" — meaning people are unique among all creation. We can think, love, create, and choose.
God looked at everything He had made and said it was very good. That includes you.
💭 Think About It
Look around you right now. Pick one thing you can see — a tree, the sky, an animal, another person. That thing was created. Who or what do you think made it? What does it feel like to think about everything having a beginning?
